The Furby Family - Spencer, Melissa, Noah & Abby

I took on the preaching task at the church on the hill in August of 2016 after being in Kennett, MO for the previous 21 years.  I was raised in Missouri by great parents and had a wonderful church experience growing up.  I knew at an early age that preaching was my life’s vocation and pursued formal training for it at Crowley’s Ridge College, Freed Hardeman University, and Harding School of Theology.  Along the way I enjoyed more “informal” training through internships at Lufkin, Texas and experiences at Success, AR and other places.

I married a beautiful Arkansan, Melissa Reddick, in 1995 and we moved to Kennett within 6 months.  There we had two children, Noah in 1998 and Abby in 2001.   We have made ministry a total family effort and it is a great life to live!

We have taken on a new chapter of life by coming to Valley View and look forward to what God has in store here in the big city of Jonesboro.

I graduated from Newport High School in 1985 then attended Harding University where I studied Child Development. My husband, Andy and I married in the fall of 1987 then promptly began our 9 year adventure with the US Navy. In 1997, we relocated to Jonesboro. Our children, Trey, his wife Kala and daughter, Evie, our daughter Katie and husband Bobby Shipman, son Clayton and daughter Caroline are our pride and joy.

We were blessed to be part of the Valley View Church of Christ since its beginning in 2004. In 2009, I was asked to be part of the Valley View staff as the Children's Ministry Coordinator. We have approximately 120 children in nursery through 6th grade. SonBeams was developed to help Christian families bond and support one another as they raise their children to know and love Jesus Christ.  We love being part of the family at VV and look forward to many more productive years here as we strive to do the Lord's work.
